Eyebrow Ptosis

Sinking of the brow-regions which are a burden on the eyelids.

Atony of tissue at the forehead’s region or paralysis of nerves of the face can cause a sinking of one or both brows. Through this there is an increased weight which partly pulls the eyelids downwards. Even parts of the eyes can be covered.

A restriction of the field of view develops. Further this leads to eyestrain since many patients try to reach a free view by trying to compensate the problem by constant quirking the eyebrows. This is sometimes also accompanied by headache.

A good therapeutic option is a direct or indirect brow lift, if necessary in combination with blepharoplastic surgery.
