Blepharospasmus & Involution
Involuntary squinting of the eyelids and age-related involution.

A blepharospasm is characterized by involuntary “quinting-reflexes” of the eyelids.
The patients suffer from this and are restricted in terms of the quality of their
seeing. There are several possible reasons for this disease; however the exact causing factors cannot be
elicited in many clinical cases.
For improving the situation and the symptoms, one can apply injections of Botulinum in
regular intervals of 2 or 3 moths.
Alterations which accompany this disease, as for example atony of the tissue around the
eyes, can be treated surgically and help to facilitate the pathology.
